Harris FLY RODS
Tim Harris is an emerging english rod maker based in Yorkshire who is rapidly making a name for himself. His passion and enthusiasm for creating bamboo rods are apparent in his beautifully crafted, hand split and planed rods.
Tim uses either classic tapers or his own excellent, carefully developed variations to produce rods that cast and fish beautifully. His rods are also affordable and superb value. At the moment Tim remains a bit of an undiscovered secret; but I don't anticipate it staying that way for long......
For someone wanting to start exploring the joys of owning and fishing a bamboo rod, Tim's rods would be a good place to start. You can share the journey and watch as Tim's career develops and your rod collection grows.
Tim makes most of his rods using three favourite tapers: "traditional" garrison based , faster "dry fly", and semi-parabolic (my favourite). He has a set of three 7'3" 4wt rods, one of each taper, which can be made available for you to try, to see which one of these three suits you best.
Standard rods are available from 5'9" to 8'6", in line weights 2 to 6 and in one, two and three piece configurations. They have two colour silk work and agate stripping ring and come with two tips. Reel seats are handmade by Tim and guides are Hopkins and Holloway with english twist snakes.
