The Plan...
The Alternative Tackle Company exists to help maintain the traditions of craftsmanship and innovation that are an integral part of our sport, and to support the dedicated people who keep those traditions alive.
By promoting and providing an outlet for their products & by giving the highest level of service to customers, the aim is to help these craftsmen, innovators and designers keep doing what they do so well:
Produce some of the finest fly fishing tackle to be found anywhere!
These products are generally not available in mainstream tackle shops, because it does not make commercial sense for such outlets to stock them. This makes them hard to find, if you want to buy and hard to sell,if you're producing them and that's where The Alternative Tackle fits in.
Its a tough job, but I think its Very Important that somebody does it!

Pricing & Stocking Policies...
Direct import prices are calculated by adding shipping, import duties and VAT to the suppliers listed retail price with a slight reduction applied to the result.
This means that you pay a fair price that is slightly less than you would pay to import the item yourself.
Otherwise prices are in line with the retail prices set by the supplier or distributor.
Some products are custom made to order & therefore not normally held in stock.
With all other product ranges my intention is to hold stock of the most popular items, where practical; and to increase that level of stockholding over time and in line with demand.
Individual product pages should provide information on wether an item is available from stock.
Some sample items are held, and you are welcome to try these; please ask for details.....

Because a lot of our products are made to order, you may have to wait awhile for your order to arrive. I will let you know how long that will take & keep you updated of any changes, throughout the order process.
Any product available from stock will be shipped within 24 hours of the order being received.
Shipping is free to the UK & Europe. Anywhere else, please ask & I will charge for shipping at cost.

The Alternative Tackle Guarantee....
As well as any manufacturer's guarantee, any product bought from The Alternative Tackle Company that does not meet with your entire satisfaction can be returned (in the same condition as you received it) within 14 days of receipt, for a full refund or replacement.
A full after sales service is provided for any issues that may arise. Each case will be treated as is appropriate to it's individual circumstances.
