I spent a long time researching wooden landing nets and was very pleased when I found Wachter Handmade Wooden Landing Nets.
Ed and Cathy Wachter run a small family business which is highly respected for the quality and craftsmanship of their products. This, in combination with the wide range of net models and custom options available, makes them an ideal addition to The Alternative Tackle product list.

I will be holding a small, but growing, selection of nets in stock. The full range of custom options are also available.
Please Note: Due to the high shipping costs involved, custom order net prices will normally be significantly higher than stock net prices (though I will always try to keep prices as low as I can). For this reason and due to the many options available, I have not included any pricing information for custom net orders. Net Details
Three separate fly fishing landing net series, are offered (Guide, Master and Outfitter), all of which are steam bent for strength and durability. The models included in each net series have the largest selection of specially chosen wood handles. All Master & Guide nets come equipped with our Net-Quick Magnetic Release and the Outfitter series includes a standard Net-Quick Release. You can also add a Net-Quick Lanyard to help keep your net attached securely to you. In addition to the fish friendly Mesh and Clear Injection Moulded net bags, the ***New Clear Ultra-Lightweight Highly Flexible MRB [Moulded Rubber Bags]*** bag is also available.

Wachter's strongest nets, each net is constructed of a 5-ply laminated bow which is steam bent. These nets receive a six-step finish consisting of polymerised tung oil and UV-resistant marine grade polyurethane, followed by a final polishing.
Choose from standard handle woods or see the Custom Options for premium Fancy and burled handle woods.
The fish friendly Mesh bag comes as standard with either the clear injection molded PVC or clear ultra-lightweight molded rubber bags available as options.
A Magnetic Net-Quick release is included on all Guide Series nets where applicable.

Master series nets are constructed of a 3-ply laminated, steam bent bow and receive a five-step finish consisting of polymerised tung oil and UV-resistant marine grade polyurethane. Nine net models are available.

Outfitter Series nets are constructed of a reverse 3-ply steam bent bow that comes in 5 of the most popular models, with 3 handle wood options.
Each net receives a four-step finish of polymerised tung oil and U.V. resistant marine grade polyurethane.
Outfitter Series nets are only available with a nylon bag and come equipped with the standard Net-Quick release, which closes with a heavy duty hook and loop system and attaches to the back of your vest in a handle down position for ease of use.
